Fred Mack is a Franco-Albertan saxophonist from Edmonton known for his diverse musical abilities. He is known for his jazz band "Fred Mack Trio" and is also a member of the rock band "Good Nature" and the Ukrainian band "Euphoria."
Mack is an accomplished composer, performer and teacher with two recorded albums. In 2015, he won the "Outstanding Jazz Band Musician" award during his Bachelor of Music in Contemporary and Jazz at MacEwan University.
The album entitled Waves, composed with his band Good Nature has received over 50,000 views on Spotify. They are currently recording their second album.
Fred Mack has toured extensively around Canada and Europe with various bands. He studied music in Finland during his university years, and for 5 months he was a musician on the cruise ship "Queen Elizabeth" playing around Europe, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. To date, he has played with the Edmonton Jazz Orchestra, Calvin Love, Melisizwe Brothers, Dave Ashley (Glenn Miller Orchestra) as well as Eric Doucet and Robert Walsh.
Fred Mack feels at home in the Franco-Albertan music community, as well as in Latin, rock, jazz, and other music groups. You will often find Fred Mack at the Yardbird Suite or as a musician for the Edmonton Jazz Festival.
