Musicaction, a non-profit organization, was founded in August 1985 on the initiative of radio and recording industry professionals. For 30 years, the Foundation has encouraged the development of music by supporting the production and marketing of sound recordings as well as collective promotion activities. Musicaction's programs are designed to meet the needs of independent music production, where the majority of albums by francophone artists across the country are produced. As a general rule, close to 80% of its resources are devoted to French-language vocal music and 20% to other musical genres.
